The drum rudiments are the building blocks for all drum beats and drum fills. Learning how to play drum rudiments will open your harmonica playing up to huge growth as well as beat and fill possibilities that you never imagined. Learning and applying the drum rudiments to your harmonica playing is one of the most important aspects of playing music. Yet learning the drum rudiments is one of the most over-looked principles.
The plan here is to maximise and exploit the use of the patterns that exist on the instrument and see what music it creates. Quite the opposite of what we normally do when we play music. Usually we need to find the right note to fit the piece or the improvisation but this is the other way round.
